We went to the pregnancy center in colorado springs, and they were awesome! They gave us some prenatal vitamins, a TON of information, a list of doctors, pregnancy verification (you need that to feed off the government teet), and answered all the questions I could remember. Sarah is Seven weeks pregnant. the baby is about the size of a grain of rice (mmmmmm....rice)The brain is growing as well as the lenses of the eyes, nostrils, intestines, pancreas and bronchi.

some exciting stuff. I think it can hear now. but no one will tell me so I dont know for sure.

Sarah has been in better spirits, and I have felt alot better since we went to the pregnancy center. My parents have been a little more supportive, but you know how parents are, it can be a shocker when you've been marriend for eight months and get pregnant. who'da thunk it?

well not much other news. were going to make a doctors appointment for the 28th (the next time we go back to colorado springs)

your daddy,
scott

So, I was wrong.

Sarah was actually six weeks pregnant as of the 14th of August. I was counting from the end of her last menstration rather than the begining. Silly me. Sarah was fairly sick today. Normally when she says she is sick I tell her she's faking it or to tough it out. Its kind of hard to fake pregnancy, but I guess some people have pulled it off. So she sat in bed most of the day.

She had some cramping, and her stomach was upset. I have read that both of these are normal. Her upset stomach is due to morning sickness, of corse, and the cramping is from the rapid growth of her uterus.

speaking of growth, I have grown to dislike pregnancy books. The same book that told me cramping was normal, told me that it could be a sign of a miscarrage. One book told me that headaches could be a sign of hypertension, and to notify my doctor immediately, and on the next page said that headaches were common throughout pregnancy, and were one of the most common complaints.

I cant wait to go to the doctor.

OH! Its heart is supposed to be beating now! Isn't that crazy?

Hello! My name is Scott. And you are reading my blog. Congratulations.

About a week ago, my life was changed (for the better, I hope) by two purple lines. The test said to wait three minutes, but the results came almost instantly. Two purple lines.

I have to say I was kind of worried. Worried about the reaction that I was sure my mother would have, worried about the inevitable hospital bills, worried about misscarage, still birlth, and ectopic pregnancy. Sarah did not seem to care about any of these things. She was more concerned with letting me know I had been wrong "I told you I was pregnant! I told you!"

A few days later we informed our room-mate-to-be, Samantha. She was shocked to say the least (in spite of the fact that Sarah and I have been married for 8 months, and we told her we were trying for a baby). She found the Idea of us having children discomforting, but she soon warmed up to it.

Now it was time to call my mother, father, and sister.

Mom,"Its Okay news, nothing horrible"

Dad,"Well, I guess this is what you wanted"

Clarissa (my sister),"Do you have any idea how much a baby cost?"

Clarissa went on to tell me that medicare and low income health clinics were for stupid people.

Right now she is about five weeks pregnant, and the baby is about the size of this "o." We went to the library, and I have been learning about pregnancy ever since. Some of it is interesting, some of it is scary, and some, is just disgusting.

This blog is about Sarah's pregnancy.
aren't you excited.
